Mushroom-Barley Soup


One simple word summarizes this soup well: YUM.

I began by cooking pearl barley on the stove until it was soft. Then I cooked mushrooms, onion, garlic, and a dash of salt in a separate pan. After everything softened, I added sherry wine and soy sauce. The mushrooms mixture was poured into the barley pan and everything simmered together with some extra water. Truly a simple soup with filling ingredients and warm, delicious flavor.
